ConChords
This class is open to all tenor, cambiata, and bass voices who have an interest in singing. There is no audition requirement. The students will learn techniques for tone production, breathing techniques, singing posture, and proper diction. Students are expected to learn basic music theory and how to sight read. Performances and sight singing assignments are required as a necessary demonstration of the skills learned in class. Repertoire will range from easy to medium difficulty which includes unison, two-part,and three part singing in a variety of styles.
As a co-curricular ensemble, rehearsals and performances outside of regular school hours are a requirement. |
Decibelles
This class is open to all treble and unchanged voices who have an interest in singing. There is no audition requirement. Bella Voce
This class is open to treble voices in grades 9-12 and requires an audition by the choral director. This is a performance oriented ensemble involved in concert, community appearances and will participate in Virginia Music Educators Association events. Choral literature for treble voices in a variety of styles and all music periods including pop, folk, gospel, and jazz will be explored. Sight reading and music theory will be an integral part of the class. Repertoire will range from medium to difficult levels. This class is offered as an honors course which allows students to earn a 0.5 GPA boost.

Champe Singers
This class is open to treble, tenor, and bass voices in grades 9-12 and requires an audition by the choral director. This is a performance oriented ensemble involved in concert and community appearances and will participate in Virginia Music Educators Association events. The repertoire will include a large variety of choral literature that is both sacred and secular. Sight reading and music theory will be an integral part of the class. Repertoire will range from moderately difficult to difficult. This class is offered as an honors course which allows students to earn a 0.5 GPA boost.

Chamber Choir
This class is open to treble voices in grades 9-12 and requires an audition by the choral director the maximum amount of singers in this class is 16 unless an exception must be made. This is a performance oriented ensemble involved in concert and community appearances and will participate in Virginia Music Educators Association events. The repertoire will include a large variety of choral literature that is both sacred and secular. Sight reading and music theory will be an integral part of the class. Repertoire will range from moderately difficult to difficult. This class is offered as an honors course which allows students to earn a 0.5 GPA boost.
